Standing up for Ireland
William Carey
South Dublin County Council
Clondalkin
I was elected to South Dublin County Council in 2019 to represent Clondalkin and the Four Districts.
I was a self-employed Carpenter and Joiner specialising in fitted furniture before becoming a full-time councillor. I am a life-long republican and I have been active in Sinn Fein since 1978.
I have lived in Clondalkin since 1980 and I am married with 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren.
A big sports fan, I have had 20 years involvement with Neilstown Rangers and Newlands Celtic FC.
This involvement has given me a great insight into the needs of young people in our community and an understanding of the huge challenges they face in their lives today.
