Standing up for Ireland

Sionainn McCann

Dundalk South
From Dundalk I currently live in Mooretown. I recently graduated from Trinity and currently work as a history tour guide in Dublin. I belong to a generation locked-out of the housing/rental market. Like so many people across the state, the housing crisis impacts my everyday life. I was a member of the local Ceoltas and play the fiddle in trad sessions. I am a passionate Gaeilgeoir having went to the Naonra, Gaelscoil and Coláiste Lú and was involved in the setting up of Ógras. I would be honoured to represent this community and believe I would do it with compassion and determination. I will be a voice for young people who sometimes feel disconnected from the decision making process in local government. People want change and that starts locally, in the hearts of communities.
