Standing up for Ireland

Phyllis Murphy
Louth County Council
Ardee
Living in Gilbertstown over 20 years, I am a mother and a grandmother to two girls, the youngest of which I am looking after due to the lack of adequate childcare in the area. I also care for my elderly father, so appreciate the challenges faced by people in rural areas trying to access basic services. I have seen our rural communities become more isolated as services have been neglected or stripped from the area. We need to revitalise rural Ardee including transport, lighting and investment in roads. With my life experiences and passion for my community, I can bring an energy to the role of Councillor and believe that when a community pulls together it can effect real change and that change can start right here in rural Louth.
