Cllr. Pat Treanor, a father of three adult girls, is a public representative and Leas Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council and the Municipal District. He is also a member of the IFA and GAA. A former Civil Servant and farmer, Pat was first elected in 1985. He has accumulated a mass of experience working on issues affecting the local community, including Housing, Health, and Infrastructure. He is Cathaoirleach of the Strategic Policy Committee dealing with Housing, Social and Culture, advocating for the delivery of more Social and Affordable homes, an end to dereliction and jobs for our young people. Pat represents Monaghan County Council on the Irish Central Border Area Network demanding investment in the region and building peace and reconciliation. He has also been to the fore in the campaign to re-open the Ulster Canal.
