Standing up for Ireland
Mick Ryan
Wicklow County Council
Bray West
As a lifelong resident of Bray, my roots run deep in this town, having grown up on the Old Soldiers Road and currently residing in Herbert Park. My strong connection to the community is reflected in my involvement in various local activities, such as managing schoolboy soccer teams for Wolfe Tone and St Fergal’s, being a member of Bray Emmets, and serving as a selector for the Juvenile, minor and Junior teams. Driven by a passion for equality, fairness, and social justice, I have taken on leadership roles such as serving as the President of the Bray Trades Council and was a shop steward at my workplace. In these positions, I have advocated for better pay and working conditions, promoted grassroots activism, and provided leadership and training to empower others.
Recently co-opted onto Wicklow County Council, I am eager to utilise my experience and skills in public representation, policy analysis, and negotiation to tackle local issues that impact the daily lives of residents. I am prepared to confront challenges head-on and amplify your voice to foster thriving communities.
