Standing up for Ireland

Maria Uí Ruairc
Meath County Council
Ashbourne
Maria Uí Ruairc is a native of Skryne, where she lives with her husband and three young children. She was a councillor on Meath County Council from 2014 to 2019 and currently works as a teacher. As a busy, working mum with children of school-going age, Maria has a deep understanding of the daily challenges all households face and sees ensuring children can make their way safely to and from school in modern, well-equipped buildings with adequate space for increasing numbers, as an immediate priority. Coming from a rural background, Maria will work to improve services in rural communities, including roads, broadband and public transport. “The job of councillors is to listen to their communities and act on their behalf. As your councillor, I will work to ensure that the public get the tools and services required to build and strengthen our community, now and into the future.”
