Originally, from Co Antrim, Joan O’Boyle has lived in Kildare for 25 years.
A mother of two children, she is a Special Education Teacher in Leixlip, with a particular focus on children with additional needs. Joan has helped many local parents with Home Tuition Education forms, DCA forms and assistance for their children with disabilities.
She was on the Housing list for 12 years and understands the challenges that many people face today in the midst of the housing crisis. Joan is a strong advocate for LGBTQIA. She has worked for Down syndrome Ireland and she was involved in the Repeal and No Water Charges campaigns.
