Based in Crusheen, my background is in education and the arts, where I have worked at both second and third level for over thirty years. This includes delivering a range of community-based projects throughout Clare since settling here in 2006. In 2020 I founded and Chair the Clare Pyrite Action Group, to help homeowners impacted by defective concrete products. This has included lobbying at Local Authority level, as well as contributing to several Oireachtas committees and governmental Working Groups. Our campaign secured the extension of the Defective Concrete Blocks Grant to Clare in 2022, with five-hundred million earmarked for the remediation of homes in the Clare-Limerick region. Other experience of representation and advocacy includes serving as a union representative in both Ireland and abroad.
