I am a native Ballyconnell man, went to Ballyconnell National school and later Bawnboy Vocational School. I am married to Vanessa; we have three daughters and a granddaughter. I work for Cavan County Council and have done so for over 30 years. I also hold the position of Station Officer within Ballyconnell Fire Brigade. I have represented the fire service at both local and national levels. I am passionate about this area and believe that given the resources within this area it has the potential to thrive through tourism, employment, and infrastructure. I have been a member of Sinn Fein for the last 30 years and have held many positions within the party, including Chairperson. I am a member of Competitions Control Committee within Cavan County Board (GAA). I am on the board of directors for The Sports and Leisure Complex, Cavan. I am also a member of various local committees such as Ballyconnell Town and District Development, Ballyconnell Community Centre Committee.
