Standing up for Ireland
Colum O’Callaghan
Cork County Council
Bantry/West Cork
Colum is a married father of four living in West Cork. He works as an engineer for an energy company in Co Cork. A lifelong GAA man, now a club secretary in his local GAA club, member of the local development association, director of elections in Cork South West for Sinn Fein and a strong advocate of the Irish Language.
Housing across the Bantry-West Cork area is Colum’s main priority and he believes families, workers and young people deserve more secure and affordable housing, rents and first-time self builds.
Colum’s other priorities include proper access to healthcare, lifting the hiring freeze in the HSE, more investment in consultants, GP’s, Southdoc & mental health supports.
He believes that supporting local and small businesses, fishermen and farmers is vital to the preservation of jobs in rural West Cork. Colum wants to bring energy and hard work to Cork County Council if elected.
