Carrickmacross-Castleblayney
Colm Carthy is well-rooted in the Carrickmacross community. He is an active member of many committees in the town. A former Cathaoirleach/Mayor of Co. Monaghan (2020/21), he is currently the Chairperson of Cavan-Monaghan Youth Services Committee. He is also a member/player of Carrickmacross Emmets Rounders Club and Handball Club. Colm has been a member of the Housing Strategic Policy Committee in Co. Monaghan since 2014 and has been to the fore in calling for increased housing development in Carrickmacross for our local families. Colm has been working to deal with dereliction in the town and the reinvigoration of the town centre. Colm will continue to seek additional parking, more footfall into the town centre through events and campaigns, support existing businesses in maintaining and expanding their enterprises. Above all, Colm will aim to ensure that the town centre is revitalised as a commercial and entertainment hub for the people of South Monaghan.
