Cathy Bennett is currently the Cathaoirleach of Monaghan Municipal District and Chairperson of Co. Monaghan Women’s Assembly. Cathy has held the position of Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council 2017-2018. Cathy and husband Enda live in Scotstown and they have three children. A champion of the Sliabh Beagh area for recreation and other environmentally friendly pursuits and interests, she is Chairperson of the Local Community Development Committee. Cathy is a persistent voice for effective treatment of the hard water problem in the Scotstown and Ballinode areas and for new housing provision, better roads and footpaths, improved transport and the return of services to Monaghan Hospital. Cathy believes that greater gender equality in Council Chambers will better serve our communities and our county.
