Raised in Rowlagh, schooled in Palmerstown and currently residing in Balgaddy, I am very much rooted locally in the Fonthill/ Palmerstown area. I am a secondary school teacher of Irish, History and Politics in a gaelcholáiste, an ASTI shop steward and a gaeilgeoir. As a young teacher I understand the challenges my generation face in accessing affordable housing. Many of my friends and colleagues are stuck living at home, trapped in over priced private rental accommodation and unable to buy their own home. Some are even considering emigrating, despite having good qualifications and jobs. That’s why affordable housing is one of my key priorities.
