Standing up for Ireland

Arthur Gibbons
Sligo County Council
Sligo/Strandhill
A native of Sligo Town, I am married to Celene, and together we have four children and five grandchildren. We have lived in Cartron Bay since 1987, and I was first elected to Sligo Corporation in 1999, being consecutively re-elected until the borough council’s dissolution in 2014. Social housing was always my priority, along with mental health and disability services. I am on the board of a number of disability organisations, and am chairperson of Sligo County Council’s SPC1 Housing and Corporate Committee. If re-elected in June 2024, I will continue to focus on these issues, along with Crime Prevention, improving community facilities, and local infrastructure.
