‘Women must be supported and assured throughout smear test review’ – Kimmins

Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins has said women must be kept updated and supported throughout the review of thousands of smear tests.

The party’s health spokesperson said:

“The Department of Health and the relevant trusts must ensure women’s health is a priority and ensure this backlog is dealt with as quickly as possible.

“Women affected by the review of smear tests need to be supported and assured throughout this process to provide peace of mind.

“I am committed to working with the health minister to ensure women’s health services are fit for purpose and support women at every stage of their lives.”
