Sinn Féin Leas Uachtarán Michelle O’Neill has called for an immediate ceasefire to end the slaughter in Gaza and said a peace process must be the shared will of the international community.
Speaking at a major Palestine solidarity demonstration in London today, Michelle O’Neill said:
“What is happening in Gaza is the gravest human rights violation of our time.
“Six months of occupation have seen Israel indiscriminately slaughter 35,000 Gazans – including 15,000 children.
“From this platform today, we demand an immediate, unconditional and complete ceasefire.
“We need to see an end to Genocide, ethnic cleansing, and collective punishment of Palestinians.
“All hostages should be released immediately.
“All aid for Gaza must be delivered immediately, and Israeli forces must withdraw from Gaza and the West Bank.
“World leaders, especially the United States, face a choice – stand by international law, human rights, and justice – or stand by the savagery of Israel.
“The resolution of conflict is in peace negotiations leading to a viable Palestinian state.
“Peace must now be the shared will of the international community.
“Today, with one voice we say to Israel – stop the slaughter.”
