Urgent action needed to improve water quality – Brogan

Sinn Féin MLA Nicola Brogan has called for an urgent review into how we address water quality issues across the north.

Speaking following the release of a report by the Auditor General, the party’s environment spokesperson said:

“I note the report from the Audit Office which highlights a number of concerns, including the fact that water quality hasn’t improved over a period of almost 10 years.

“The approach to dealing with water quality must be urgently reviewed and the recommendations in the Auditor’s report fully implemented to ensure this is quickly addressed.

“Working to improve our water quality and fix the problems outlined in this report must be a top priority for the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.”
