Transparency and accountability crucial to restore confidence at University of Limerick – Maurice Quinlivan TD

Sinn Féin TD for Limerick City, Maurice Quinlivan, has said transparency and accountability are crucial to restore public confidence at the University of Limerick.

His comments follow reports that the Garda Economic Crime Bureau is now examining issues relating to a controversial housing deal at the university.

Speaking today, Teachta Quinlivan said:

“It is crucial that there is full transparency about the events surrounding this housing deal. There must be full cooperation with any investigation, so that the full facts can be established as soon as possible.

“I know that students, staff, the wider UL community and indeed people throughout Limerick are deeply concerned about recent revelations. In order for public confidence to be restored, there must be transparency and accountability.”
