The case for a general election couldn’t be clearer – Eoin Ó Broin TD

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Housing, Eoin Ó Broin TD, has said that the case for the calling of a general election couldn’t be clearer.

He has challenged the incoming leader of Fine Gael to put their record to the people and to let the public decide who becomes Taoiseach.

Teachta Ó Broin said:

“The case for a general election couldn’t be clearer now.

“The Taoiseach has walked off the pitch, saying he’s not up to the job. Today, a minister has resigned.

“The reality is that none of them are up for the job. This is a government that has failed on all of the key issues facing workers and families; on housing, on health and with respect to the cost of living.

“They are out of touch, out of ideas and out of time.

“We need a change of government without delay.

“Simon Harris does not represent change. He has sat around the cabinet table for the past eight years while the biggest housing crisis the State has ever seen has been allowed to develop due to government inaction.

“The government must put their record to the people, and let the public decide who becomes Taoiseach.”
