Teenage road deaths have left communities heartbroken – Gildernew

Sinn Féin MP Michelle Gildernew has expressed her condolences to the family and friends of Kamile Vaicikonyte and Jamie Moore who died in a fatal collision on the A5 road on Tuesday.

The Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP said:

“It’s devastating to learn that two teenagers tragically lost their lives on the A5 road on Tuesday night.

“My immediate thoughts are with both Kamile and Jamie’s families and friends as they begin to process this terrible incident.

“An entire community is heartbroken today, and I know that we will all do everything that we can to support these families in what will be difficult days to come.

“It’s also incomprehensible that only on Monday, Kamile joined others at her school, St Ciaran’s College in Ballygawley, to campaign for the urgent upgrade of the A5 road, only to tragically lose her life on that same road one day later.

“Far too many people have lost their lives on this dangerous road. The objections must end. We must move forward and build the A5 with no more delays.”
