Support to fast track flexible school starting age plans welcome – Brogan

Sinn Féin MLA Nicola Brogan has welcomed proposals to fast track flexibility for families when it comes to school starting age for some children.

The West Tyrone MLA said:

“Many families are waiting and relying on these new plans, particularly those parents of babies born from April to June.

“Cross party support for fast tracking these proposals will give some comfort and relief to these families.

“Introducing flexibility to the school starting age for children has the potential to make a huge difference to their development.

“Sinn Féin will work to ensure that the Education Minister gets these proposals over the line and in place for families as soon as possible.”

Teachers deserve a fair pay deal that reflects their incredible work and commitment to our young people.

@ChrisHazzardSF joined with a delegation of teachers from the North to hand in a letter to the British Prime Minister calling for an immediate pay deal for workers.

Education workers deserve fair pay & working conditions.

With one party’s boycott of the Executive ongoing, the British Govt must urgently bring forward a pay deal for workers here.

We need an Executive restored now, & all parties working together to support workers & services.

In any other walk of life the person presiding over such a colossal failure would be sacked. The Minister for Justice is clearly not the person to restore people's confidence in public safety and she should resign.
