Sinn Féin motion supporting improved respite services passes in Assembly – Dillon

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has welcomed the passing of a motion in the Assembly calling on the health minister to urgently work to address the lack of respite services for adults and children.

The party’s social care spokesperson said:

“Adults and children with learning difficulties and their carers deserve access to the good-quality respite services they need.

“Today in the Assembly, Sinn Féin successfully passed a motion calling on the health minister to urgently bring forward a plan to improve respite services in the North.

“Too often families and carers are placed under huge strain due to the lack of services, leaving them with limited options and feeling like they have nowhere to turn.

“I will work with all parties and the health minister to address issues facing families and carers and to ensure adults and children with learning difficulties are fully supported.”
