Sinn Féin is your option if you want to change the government – Mary Lou McDonald TD

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has said that this general election is a choice between another Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil government or a new government for working people, for communities and for communities, led by Sinn Féin.

She said that after a century of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil holding power, it is now time to make that change.

She added: “If Sinn Féin wins, you win, your family will win, your future will win.”

Speaking outside Government Buildings today after the General Election date was announced for Friday November 29th, Teachta McDonald said:

“In this election, there is a clear choice.

“Another Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil government or a new government for working people, for families, for communities. A government led by Sinn Féin.

“This is the first General Election in which there is a real choice and chance to change the government.

“To return a government led by Sinn Féin. After a century of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil it is now time to make that change. To give Sinn Féin the chance to lead and to deliver.

“So we are asking people to vote for Sinn Féin to change the government.
We are running in this election to win.

“If Sinn Féin wins, you win, your family will win, your future will win.

“In Sinn Féin you will get a government that will move heaven and earth to make housing affordable, bring home ownership back into the reach of working people, restore hope for a generation.

“A government that will transform our health service, deliver affordable childcare for €10 a day, scrap the USC for the average worker, abolish the means test for our amazing carers,
invest with ambition and purpose in our communities, and advance the preparations for Irish Unity.

“We are prepared and we are ready. We have the policies, we have the team.

“Those that have held the reins of power for a century think this election is a foregone conclusion. That they will have it all their own way again and simply walk back into government buildings.

“But the Irish people will have something to say about that. The need for change has never been more urgent. We simply cannot afford another five years of failed government.

“People have a choice. People can vote to change the government by voting Sinn Féin and then open up the chance to put things right.

“So we face into this campaign with spirit, with confidence and with a clear message. After 100 years of Fianna Fáil- and Fine Gael-led governments, vote Sinn Féin now to change the government.

“Tar éis céad bliain de rialtais faoi smacht ag Fianna Fáil agus

“Fine Gael, tá deis indéanta againn an rialtas a athrú.

“Tá Sinn Féin ag dul san iomaíocht chun bua a bhaint amach, chun rialtas a stiúradh ar son oibrithe, ar son teaghlaigh agus ar son ár bpobail. Rialtas faoi stiúir ag Sinn Féin.

“Seo an am. Seo linn an deis rialtas nua a fháil don chosmhuintir.

“Tapaímis an deis seo le chéile.

“This is the people’s moment.

“The moment where you can make change happen.

“On November 29th, vote to change the government. Vótáil Sinn Féin.”
