Sinn Féin invites Irish fishing industry and coastal communities to take part in Fisheries Survey – Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Fisheries and the Marine, Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD, has launched a comprehensive survey to seek the views of people, working in or with an interest in the Irish fishing industry, on the current state of the industry in Ireland.

The survey is open from until Thursday November 7th and the results will be published soon after.

Teachta Mac Lochlainn said:

“Since I took up the role of Fisheries and Marine spokesperson for Sinn Féin four years ago, I have travelled to fishing piers and harbours the length and breadth of the country to engage with fishermen and coastal communities.

“I believe that our Irish fishing industry is neglected, under supported and in dire need of strategic government led intervention.

“This survey will give people an opportunity to provide their firm views on government and state authorities support for the industry; the current state of the industry and hopes for the future of the industry amongst other things.

“I am strongly urging all those who have a passion for Irish fishing and who want to build a sustainable, prosperous and just future for the industry to give us your views.”
