Sinn Féin activists launch campaign to deliver housing plan to households across the state – Pearse Doherty TD

Sinn Féin activists have today launched the party’s campaign to deliver Sinn Féin’s housing plan to households across the state.

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Finance, Pearse Doherty TD, said that voters will have a very clear choice to make between a government plan that is failing and Sinn Féin’s comprehensive alternative that will fix the housing crisis, deliver affordable homes and bring home ownership back into the reach of working people.

Teachta Doherty said:

“Starting this weekend, Sinn Féin activists will be out on the ground in our cities, towns, parishes, villages and beyond, to begin our campaign to deliver our housing plan to households right across the state.

“The reason for this is because voters have a very clear choice to make when the general election is called. Housing will be the key issue, and we want people to know the full details of Sinn Féin’s ambitious alternative.

“Voters will have to decide between a government whose plan is failing or a Sinn Féin-led government with a comprehensive alternative that will fix the housing crisis, deliver affordable homes and bring home ownership back into the reach of working people.

“The leaflet going through letterboxes across the state is a summary of A Home of Your Own, our policy document launched this week that sets out how Eoin Ó Broin as Minister for Housing would deliver 300,000 public and private homes over five years; homes that are secure, adequate and affordable.

“Sinn Féin’s proposals, the scale and ambition of which has never been set out by any other party, can be read in full on our website, housing.sinnfein.ie.

“Our message is one of hope and determination. With the right leadership and political will, the housing crisis can and will be fixed.

“Sinn Féin believes that there is no better way to invest in our future, in our young people and in our communities, than building houses in the here and now, and we are ready to start delivering this plan from day one in government.

“Over the coming days, weeks and months, Sinn Féin activists will take that message to our communities the length and breadth of the state.”
