Sheehan welcomes teachers’ pay offer

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has welcomed today’s pay offer from the Education Minister to teachers.

The West Belfast MLA said:

“I welcome today’s announcement from the Education Minister of an offer to deliver fair pay for teachers.

“Our teachers, like all of our public sector workers, deserve fair pay and conditions and today’s offer represents significant progress.

“Teaching unions should now be given time and space to discuss the detail of the offer with their members.

“I also want to commend the Finance Minister who worked quickly to prioritise public sector pay.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work with others to deliver fair pay and conditions for all education workers.”
