Sheehan welcomes funding for ‘life-saving’ defibrillators in schools

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has welcomed the announcement that 600 schools will receive life-saving defibrillators.

The party’s education spokesperson said:

“Today’s announcement that 600 schools will receive life-saving defibrillators will help to protect the lives of students, school staff and even those in the wider community.

“People can experience cardiac arrest at any time without notice, that’s why having a defibrillator nearby is so essential.

“We also need to see an emphasis on training and awareness so people can feel confident if they have to respond to an incident.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work with others to ensure the roll out of this equipment is as quick and efficient as possible.”
