Sheehan welcomes cross-party support for shared and integrated education

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has welcomed cross-party support today in the Assembly for shared and integrated Education.

The West Belfast MLA said:

”The British government’s recent decision to withdraw funding for shared and integrated education new builds was outrageous.

”Today, parties came together to send a message to the British government that shared and integrated education here must be supported and resourced properly.

”At least ten new school builds have been impacted by the withdrawal of this funding and it’s the children and young people from those communities who will pay the price.

”Sinn Féin will continue to work with all parties to ensure that shared and integrated education is properly valued and gets the resources that are needed.”
