Sheehan welcomes agreement on teachers’ pay

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has welcomed the announcement from teaching unions today accepting a recent pay offer.

The party’s education spokesperson said:

“I welcome the announcement that teachers have voted to accept the recent pay offer from the Department of Education.

“Our teachers, like all our public sector workers, deserve fair pay and conditions, and this offer represents significant progress in delivering this.

“I also want to commend the Finance Minister who worked at speed to prioritise public sector pay.

“Sinn Féin will continue working with others to deliver fair pay and conditions for all our education workers.”
