Public sector workers deserve fair pay – Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has reiterated calls on the British Government to deliver a fair pay deal for public sector workers.

The party’s economy spokesperson said:

“Public sector workers deserve fair pay and safe working conditions.

“While one party continues to block the Assembly, savage Tory cuts have denied fair pay rises to workers who play an instrumental role in delivering services across health, education and other frontline public services.

“Sinn Féin will continue to press the British government to deliver a fair deal for these workers in the absence of a fully functioning Executive.

“It’s totally unacceptable that workers face yet another freezing cold winter on picket lines to achieve their right to fair pay and conditions.

“We need an Executive that works together to make politics work and delivers for workers and families.”
