Gerry Kelly has represented the people of North Belfast since being elected as an MLA in 1998.
He has been central to the delivery of significant local investment in North Belfast in housing, education, community and sports facilities.
Gerry championed the rights of children and older people as a Minister in the Executive and he continues that work to this day.
He is passionate about improved infrastructure and access to services for his North Belfast constituents, and about Irish language, marriage equality, LGBT rights, and women’s and workers’ rights.
A former political prisoner and hunger striker, Gerry is currently a member of the Policing Board and is also Sinn Féin spokesperson for policing and justice.
He is deeply committed to the achievement of Irish unity and was a key member of the Sinn Fein team which negotiated the Good Friday Agreement.
