‘Over 100 new jobs a vote of confidence in north’s flourishing economy’ – Sheerin

Sinn Féin MLA Emma Sheerin has welcomed news of over 100 new technology jobs in the north.

The party’s local economy spokesperson was speaking after Napier AI made the announcement in Belfast on Tuesday alongside the Economy Minister, Caoimhe Archibald.

Founded in 2015, Napier AI uses technology to safeguard banks against financial crime.

“It’s fantastic news that Napier AI has chosen the north to expand its services, citing the ‘excellent talent pool’ here, and our ‘world-class universities’.

“Not only does this speak to our incredible workers’ skill sets, but it is also a huge vote of confidence in our flourishing economy.

“As a thriving hub for many technology sectors, the north continues to go from strength to strength, establishing itself firmly on the map as an exciting place to invest, work and live in,” said Ms Sheerin.

Praising the work of the Department for the Economy, Emma Sheerin said Caoimhe Archibald will continue working to build a fairer economy for all.

“Minister Archibald is continuing the positive work begun by Conor Murphy in the department, prioritising good-quality jobs and an economy which works for communities in every region.

“I am committed to working alongside the Minister and the other parties to continue seizing on our enormous economic potential.”
