New taskforce an ‘exciting opportunity’ to expand Magee – Delargy

Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has welcomed a new taskforce set up with a focus on delivering the expansion of Magee.

Speaking after Economy Minister Conor Murphy made the announcement in Derry today, the Foyle MLA said:

“It is fantastic news that a taskforce has been set up to help expand Magee University and deliver 10,000 students at the campus.

“This is an exciting opportunity, and a clear commitment from the new Economy Minister to deliver the expansion of our local university and continue to create opportunities to further establish the north west as a vibrant place to live and study.

“I want to commend the chair and all of those working on this taskforce. It’s important we all put the shoulder to the wheel and work together to get this important project completed, and build on the huge successes for Magee over recent months, including significant investment from the Irish Government.

“The full expansion of Magee is a priority for Sinn Féin in the Executive, alongside working to promote regional balance, create jobs and continue with the positive transformation of the north west.”
