New homes for north Belfast a positive announcement – Ní Chuilín

Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín has welcomed an announcement from Belfast City Council to transform a section of car parks and disused land in an area of north Belfast into new homes.

Parts of Little Donegall Street, Library Street and Kent Street will be rejuvenated, creating a vibrant community of social and affordable homes, commercial units and community spaces.

The North Belfast MLA said:

“The announcement of new homes for north Belfast on the edge of the city centre is fantastic news.

“Cutting housing waiting lists and ensuring families and individuals have a good-quality home is something Sinn Féin is committed to.”

Talking about the ‘huge potential’ of the area, Ms Ní Chuilín said she will continue to work with local residents to support its regeneration.

“This area has huge untapped potential and by working together, we can continue transforming this part of Belfast, making it a vibrant place to live, work and do business in.

“I will continue to work alongside the local community and ensure their voices are heard.”
