Narrow Water Bridge one step closer – Sinn Féin

Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard and Sinéad Ennis MLA has welcomed further commitment from Irish government on the development of Narrow Water Bridge 

The South Down MP has said the delivery of this project is key to ‘unlocking South Down’s potential’.

Chris Hazzard said:

“It is welcome that the Irish government have committed to delivering €1 billion into strategic infrastructural projects for the north. 

“This includes the iconic Narrow Water Bridge – a long awaited project that can now move forward with real ambition.

Sinéad Ennis MLA added: 

“The Narrow Water Bridge is not just an infrastructure project, it will be transformational and is key to unlocking South Down’s huge potential to create good quality jobs, boost tourism and create a stronger, all-Ireland economy. 

“Sinn Féin will continue to ensure Narrow Water bridge is delivered to improve the lives of workers, families and local businesses across South Down.”

Following a meeting with the families of the Stardust tragedy this morning, @MaryLouMcDonald has said that "a full state apology to the families must be made now, and it must address the systematic failure over 43 years".
