Sinn Féin MLA Áine Murphy has expressed her deepest condolences to the family of Eimir Martin following her tragic passing.

The Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA said:

“Eimir was a hugely gifted footballer and a massive inspiration to myself and other young girls in the club, who growing up wanted to play like, and be like Eimir. An inspiration to everyone, on and off the pitch.

“Despite her playing career being cut short, Eimir remained a committed GAA fan, never missing a ‘Skea ladies game.

“I would like to send my deepest condolences to the entire Martin family on the devastating loss of Eimir. The communities of Lisnaskea and Derrylin are united in grief at this terribly sad time.
