Sinn Féin MLA Declan McAleer has encouraged communities in Donegal to give their views on the Dalradian goldmine proposal following the suspension of the inquiry today.
Speaking on this Mr McAleer said:
“It is regrettable that the long awaited inquiry into Dalradian’s proposals for a goldmine and processing plant in the Sperrins has been suspended.
“The additional consultation gives more people the opportunity to have their say and express their views.
“Due to the nature of this planning application it is important that people in Donegal are consulted on the potential environmental ramifications of the Dalradian project which cut across the north west.
“I would encourage all communities impacted to contribute to the consultation and give their views prior to the resumption of the inquiry.”
