Sinn Féin MP Cathal Mallaghan has welcomed the continued support of GAA President Jarlath Burns for the family of the late Sean Brown in their ongoing campaign for truth and justice.
The Bellaghy Wolfe Tones Chairman was abducted and murdered by a loyalist death squad in 1997. Decades later, his family continue to be denied answers.
The Mid Ulster MP said:
“The determination of Sean’s family is an inspiration. Their campaign for truth and justice should be met with full transparency – not delay.
“The British government must end its shameful blocking of inquests and public inquiries. The family of Sean Brown, like all families, have the right to truth and accountability.
“The GAA has long been a pillar of our communities, and I welcome Jarlath Burns’ commitment that the Association stands fully behind this campaign. Sean Brown gave a lifetime of service to the GAA.
“It is now time for truth and justice to be delivered.”
