MacManus welcomes Power sharing breakthrough

Sinn Féin MEP for the Midlands North-West, Chris MacManus has welcomed the decision by the DUP to allow the restoration of the Assembly and Executive in the north of Ireland.

Speaking from the European Parliament in Brussels MacManus said:

“The people in the north have spent the last two years without a functioning executive. This has had a devastating impact on workers and families. Therefore, I welcome the news that the institutions in the north will be back up and running.”

“As a member of the European Parliament’s Delegation to Westminster, I would now like to see the European Parliament and the Assembly, move to a position where engagement between the two institutions is re-established.” ENDS
