Little wonder that the primary spokesperson for vulture funds in Ireland doesn’t want their wings clipped – Pearse Doherty TD

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Finance, Pearse Doherty TD, responding to remarks made yesterday by the CEO of Irish Institutional Property, and former General Secretary of Fianna Fáil, Pat Farrell has said:

“It is little wonder that the primary spokesperson for vulture funds in Ireland is worried about Sinn Féin clipping their wings, because we will.

“This is the same person who was appointed a ‘weekend Senator’ by Fianna Fáil, which affords him lifetime access to undertake lobbying activities in the corridors of Leinster House.

“These are the same vultures who have bought up whole housing estates and snapped up family homes from under the feet of workers and families – who have saved every euro they can to buy their first home – only to then charge extortionate rents to tenants; which Sinn Féin will reduce in government.

“These funds want rents to increase so they can make even more profits.

“They want a government that is subservient to their interests and who do not act in the interests of workers and families. They have that in Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. That is why these vultures do not want change and that is what is behind this attack on Sinn Féin.”
