Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has said huge potential exists to continue transforming the north west as a ‘vibrant place to live, work and study’.
He was speaking during a motion brought to the floor of the Assembly on Tuesday to highlight job creation and cross-border co-operation in the north west.
“The north west is rich in opportunity and home to many thriving businesses who are playing an important role in our economy, creating jobs and attracting investment,” said the Foyle MLA.
“With representatives in both Derry and Donegal, my party has consistently made the case for investment in our region, and successive Sinn Féin ministers in the Assembly have prioritised this.”
Mr. Delargy highlighted the current work ongoing to progress the expansion of Ulster University’s Magee campus, supporting City of Derry Airport as well as efforts to build a fairer, balanced economy.
Pointing to the economic opportunities which lie ahead, Pádraig Delargy said:
“The development of a Derry-Letterkenny economic corridor has the power to transform not just the north west, but the entire island, creating high-quality jobs, developing world-class infrastructure, and delivering prosperity for workers, families, and businesses.
“We have huge potential ahead to continue building on the progress we have made and making the north west a vibrant place to live, work, study and do business in.
“Sinn Féin will continue to work with parties in the Assembly and the Dáil to deliver for workers, families and communities in the north west.”
