‘Health and social care workers deserve fair pay’ – Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said the British Government should get on with delivering a fair pay deal for health and social care workers.

Conor Murphy:

“Health and social care workers deserve fair pay and better working conditions.

“They are the backbone of our health service and it’s clear they are burnt out from working flat out around the clock in our hospitals saving lives and caring for patients.

“The British Government needs to urgently bring forward a fair pay deal for health and social care workers without any more delay.

“It is unfair and unjust that the pay offer made to other health and social care workers has not been extended to workers here.

“We need the Assembly restored now and all parties working together to support our workers, tackle waiting lists and to fix the chronic problems in our health service.”
