Hargey expresses concern at plan to close south Belfast out of hours GP service

Sinn Féin MLA Deirdre Hargey has expressed concerns after the Belfast Trust announced plans to close a south Belfast out of hours GP service.

The South Belfast MLA said:

“I am concerned at the trust’s intention to close the out of hours service at Knockbreda Health and Wellbeing Centre in south Belfast.

“This is a vital service for local people who need a GP during unsociable hours, and it must be maintained.

“All communities deserve health services which are of good quality and accessible.

“I will be writing to the Belfast Trust to highlight my concerns, particularly around the lack of consultation and engagement with the community.

“People’s health and well-being must be paramount.”
