Gildernew welcomes today’s meeting of Ministers on All-Ireland public health response to COVID-19

Sinn Féin Assembly Health spokesperson Colm Gildernew MLA has welcomed today’s meeting of Ministers from the Executive and Irish Government.

Colm Gildernew said:

“This is the third All-Ireland meeting of key Ministers in a number of weeks aimed at strengthening co-operation across the island on our public health response to the coronavirus outbreak.

“This week a formal intergovernmental agreement was signed by the two Health Ministers and Chief Medical Officers to formalise co-operation and collaboration on issues including public messaging, procurement, modelling, testing and other critical matters.

“I endorse and echo the clear plea from ministers for the public to act in accordance with the public health guidance North and South and to avoid non-essential travel this Easter weekend and to stay at home.”
