Gildernew welcomes extra payment for those affected by contaminated blood scandal

Sinn Féin MLA Colm Gildernew has welcomed the announcement of additional payments for those affected by the contaminated blood scandal.

Colm Gildernew said:

“I welcome the fact that those whose partner or spouse died as a result of the contaminated blood scandal will receive extra financial support.

“This will mean additional payments of up to £33,500 will be made to those affected.

“This extra support will help those dealing with the life-long impact of the contaminated blood scandal and is an important recognition of what happened.”
