Mark is a father of three children who is from Clondalkin and living in Lucan
Mark is a behavioural therapist who has worked in frontline addiction and mental health services.
Mark became a Sinn Fein public representative in 2016. He was elected Mayor of South Dublin in 2018. He topped the poll in 2019 local elections. In November 2019, Mark successfully contested a by-election in Dublin Mid- West, topping the poll and becoming the second TD for Sinn Féin in the area. Mark was re-elected in the 2020 General Election.
As Sinn Féin Spokesperson for Mental Health and Community Safety, Mark has advocated for people to be able to access services in a timely manner. He has been particularly vocal on long waiting lists for CAMHS, children’s disability services and special education places. Local issues of housing and community services have always been a priority for Mark.
