Sinn Féin MP Cathal Mallaghan said that today’s verdict in the Francis Bradley inquest is a hugely disappointing result for his family.
The Mid Ulster MP said:
“Today’s inquest ruling that the use of lethal force in killing of Francis Bradley in 1986 was justified will be hugely disappointing for his family.
“The Bradley family has campaigned for truth and justice for over 30 years and have been frustrated by continuous delays in the delivery of his inquest.
“Today will be a difficult and emotional day for Francis’ family, who have campaigned with dignity and determination to establish the truth of what happened to him.
“It is imperative that the British government now facilitate the hearing of all outstanding inquests which is currently standing at approximately 50.
“All families are entitled to truth and justice.”
