Executive needed to improve women’s healthcare – Dillon

Sinn Féin MLA Linda Dillon has said the Executive must be restored urgently to deliver a Women’s Health Strategy and improve women’s healthcare.

Speaking on the lack of specialist services for endometriosis here in the north, the party’s health spokesperson said:

“Women in the north continue to be failed as a result of one party’s boycott of the Assembly.

“Currently, there are no specialist services for women and girls dealing with the debilitating condition endometriosis.

“Many women and girls are not being diagnosed early enough and then are not receiving the appropriate treatment needed.

“We need an Executive restored now to improve the overall healthcare for women here and to deliver a Women’s Health Strategy.

“Public patience has run out. Our communities need local ministers working together to prioritise the health of all our people here.”
