Every effort must be made to support Firstsource workers – Delargy

Sinn Féin Assembly members Pádraig Delargy and Ciara Ferguson today met with the management of Firstsource Solutions to urge the company to offer other opportunities to staff facing redundancy.

Commenting after the talks, Pádraig Delargy said:

“This morning Ciara Ferguson and I met with Firstsource. Our priority is to ensure staff are offered other opportunities with equal pay where possible.

“Firstsource Solutions is obviously a significant employer in Derry so news of the planned redundancies is deeply concerning.

“We were very clear in our engagement that the company must now make effort to protect the workers impacted and ensure they are supported and informed every step of the way.

“To that end, we will be continuing to engage closely with Firstsource in the time ahead to press for stability and a strong commitment to protecting jobs in Derry.”
