Education Minister must get on with delivering fair pay for all education workers – Mason

Sinn Féin MLA Cathy Mason has said the Education Minister must get on with the job of paying education workers fairly.

The South Down MLA said:

“This morning I met with unions who represent workers right across our education system.

“These workers keep our schools open every day, they are responsible for school meals, school transport and for supporting some of our most vulnerable children and young people.

“It’s time they were listened to and their role in our education system was properly valued and recognised.

“The Education Minister must urgently prioritise the issue of fair pay and conditions for these workers and implement the pay and grading review without delay.”
